ESO ADVANCED INVENTORY MANAGEMENT GUIDE

THE BEST WAY TO KEEP YOUR INVENTORY MANAGEABLE!

HOW TO MANAGE INVENTORY

Whether you are a brand new player, or a seasoned veteran with 6 years of experience who makes how to videos as a way to try and fulfill a lifelong dream of being a dancing monkey, you will eventually wind up running out of space in your inventory.

Following the suggestions in this guide, as well as the video guides from the BrahWeGotThis YouTube page will help you keep your inventory under control.

GET ESO PLUS IF YOU CAN

ESO Plus gives you access to the craft bag, which is a nearly bottomless bag where all your crafting materials go and keeps them from cluttering your inventory. This will ensure you never have to worry about running out of space and needing to choose between valuable materials and gear to keep.

BUY BAG AND BANK UPGRADES

You can buy upgrades to your bag space through the pack merchant in any city, or bank space upgrades through any banker. This will increase your space by 10 slots (20 slots for ESO plus) but the amount of gold for each upgrade increases exponentially as you gain more space.

SELL ORNATE ITEMS AND DECONSTRUCT INTRICATE ITEMS

Some items you pick up in game will have a symbol on them showing they are intricate or ornate.

Anything with the ornate symbol should be sold to a merchant, and any item with the intricate symbol should be deconstructed at the appropriate crafting table.

Additionally, some items are “treasure” or “trash” items. Treasure items fetch a fair price from merchants, and even trash items are usually worth a small amount of gold.

MAKE USE OF THE ITEM SET COLLECTION

The Item Set Collection is a system in ESO that, in short, saves all your gear that you collect and is bound to your account. Some items are always bound, like Solo Arena gear, some items you need to equip it to bind it to you (Or you can just left click an item and select the bind option), like Overland gear, and dungeon and trials gear are binded automatically after two hours. Also if you deconstruct or sell an item to a merchant npc, they will also be binded automatically to your account.

So how does that help you? You simply don’t need to save any item that you think you may or may not need to use at some point. Deconstruct it, sell it, whatever, and if you end up needing to get that set piece for some build, you can just go to a transmute station (there’s one in clockwork city and another one in our guild hall on PC/NA) and reconstruct it using Transmute Crystals that you get from doing pledges, random dungeon and PvP. You can do that to ANY set on the game, at any level because when you reconstruct an item, it will be leveled with you, and not worry about saving gear for later in case you are short on inventory space. It is way easier to farm Crystals than to farm gear and saves a lot of headache about inventory management.

SELL OR DECONSTRUCT GEAR YOU DO NOT NEED

As you level a character you will pick up all kinds of gear from enemies and loot containers that is leveled to your current level.

A good habit to get into is checking if an item is better than what you are currently wearing or using, and getting rid of it if it is not.

You can deconstruct any item you don’t want to use to help level your crafting skills and get some materials, or you can simply sell the item to a merchant or at a guild trader if you are in a trading guild.

Items can also be listed on the Necrodaddys or Necropappas guild store if you are in the guilds on PC NA.

ACQUIRE THE STORAGE COFFERS FOR YOUR HOUSE

There are 6 storage coffers you can get to store gear and items securely in your house.

3 of these have 30 slots and 3 have 60 slots and these coffers can be bought on the crown store or using writ vouchers from completing master writs.

Items stored in the storage coffers are not available at crafting tables so you will need to keep that in mind when storing things as if you put materials or things you want to deconstruct in them you will need to pull those items out before you can use them.

GET THE MERCHANT AND BANKER FROM THE CROWN STORE

The merchant and banker available in the crown store will allow you to have access to your personal bank and a merchant to sell items to whenever you are, outside of Cyrodiil.

These two NPCs are rather pricey, but can be extremely helpful when you find yourself in the middle of a dungeon or mission where you have picked up a lot of items and need to clear some space quick. You can also place them in your house for easy access when you are relaxing between adventures.

STORE THE CRAFTING ITEMS AND RESEARCH ITEMS IN YOUR BANK

Items in your personal bank are accessible at all crafting stations, meaning you can store all crafting materials and any items you need to research in your bank and you will not need to withdraw items to use them.

For crafting materials you should focus on keeping the higher end upgrade mats and trait materials as these can be the most expensive things to buy when you need them.

For researchable items you will want to keep track of what traits you have unlocked either manually if you are on console, or by using addons like “Research Assistant” on PC. This will help you determine what items you can get rid of and which ones you need to keep for research.

KEEP MONSTER SETS AND GET RID OF HELMS/SHOULDERS

Not all monster sets are going to be useful to you, but if you have the space either in your bank or a storage coffer, it is a good idea to keep any Monster helms and shoulders you get from dungeons and undaunted chests.

Having an extra heavy helm lying around for a particular set could turn out to be useful. On the same note, as most end game builds will use a monster set, you can usually dispose of the helm and shoulders from other sets you acquire in game. This helps free up a lot of clutter, but make sure the build you are planning to use does not need these pieces before you dispose of them.

UPGRADE YOUR MOUNT CARRY CAPACITY

After you have your mount speed maxed out, focus on getting your carry capacity up. This will give you more inventory space at 250 gold per day until it is maxed.
